General competition information

Competitions can be hard, stressful and emotional for skaters and for parents.  They also teach our skaters about sportsmanship, community, hard work and to be proud of our achievements.  At the South West Stars we focus on each skater striving for and achieving their personal goals and trying their hardest in every event.  We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our skaters; however, it is the amazing sportsmanship and attitudes of our skaters at competitions that makes them STARS.

AT ALL COMPETITIONS

For the duration of the competition, we request that skaters and parents remain at the venue, this ensures we can support all skaters in our club.

Skaters (and parents when possible) should be dressed in full club uniform at all times when not in leotard.  Runners/sneakers are compulsory at all times.

Skaters will need healthy food/snacks and a water bottle.  Food that is easy to snack on and eat throughout the day works best as skaters will be nervous and not wanting big meals.

Hair and makeup must be done with plenty of time before the skater's event.  We can help with this, but we will need to know prior to the competition if you would like help so we can organise a time.

Most importantly - we cheer for every skater, our friends and other competitors, as if they were a part of our club.  We never boo anyone or leave anyone out.
